Data assistant arrested for taking bribe in the ED health office.
Mirzapur 3 september:-(desk) A team from the Vigilance Establishment Varanasi caught a data assistant red-handed on Monday while accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 at the office of the Additional Director of Medical Health and Family Welfare.
The employee was allegedly demanding a bribe of ₹50,000 in the name of getting the withheld salary released. When the vigilance team began to take the data assistant away, there was chaos in the office. The team took the accused into their vehicle and headed to the Varanasi office, where a case was registered and action was initiated.
A complaint had been lodged against Pankaj Dubey, stationed at Rajgarh CHC, and another individual regarding their fake appointments at the office of the Additional Director of Medical Health and Family Welfare in the Vindhyachal division. In this matter, the Additional Director instructed Pankaj Dubey to provide necessary documents to the investigation committee. His salary was withheld until the investigation was completed due to his failure to provide the required documents.
Pankaj filed a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment, alleging that Krishna Murari Vishwakarma, the data assistant stationed at the Additional Director of Medical Health and Family Welfare office, demanded ₹50,000 as a bribe to release his withheld salary. The investigation into Pankaj's written complaint was conducted by the Superintendent of Police, Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment, which confirmed the allegations. Following this, the vigilance team apprehended Krishna Murari Vishwakarma on Monday morning while he was accepting ₹50,000 in cash from the complainant, Pankaj Dubey, at the office of the Additional Director of Medical Health and Family Welfare.
The apprehension of the data assistant by the team caused a stir in the office. Dr. A.K. Singh, the Joint Director, stated that someone had complained about the fake appointments of Pankaj Dubey and another person, and that an investigation was underway. Pankaj's salary was withheld for not cooperating with the investigation. Following Pankaj's complaint, the vigilance team took the data assistant into custody.
