Tanya Soni, a 25-year-old civil service aspirant, was a passionate poet and regular participant in cultural events during her college days. Tragically, her life and dreams were cut short when she drowned in the basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle in Delhi, where she was preparing for the UPSC entrance exam.

Originally from Aurangabad, Bihar, Tanya had moved to Delhi after completing her Bachelor's degree in political science from Maharaja Agrasen College under Delhi University. She had always dreamed of becoming an IAS officer, a goal she was determined to achieve through rigorous preparation at the coaching center.

Tanya's friends and family remember her as a bright, sharp, and dedicated student who balanced her studies with her love for writing poetry. Despite her busy schedule, she made time for her passion and regularly published her own work.

Tanya's body was brought back to her hometown of Aurangabad, Bihar, where her family and friends gathered to mourn her passing Her grandfather described her as the brightest student in the family, while her cousin Ankit remembered her sharp intellect and talent for dancing.

The Delhi basement tragedy has sparked outrage over civic negligence and raised questions about the safety measures at coaching centers. Tanya's untimely death serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing student safety and ensuring that educational institutions operate within the bounds of the law.
