International Airport will be built in the old place of Purandar Taluka

Pune: State Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday informed about the proposed International Airport in Purandar to be built in the old place of Purandar taluka. He said that before acquiring the land, after discussing with the local people, instructions have been given to the departmental commissioner to submit the report. Talking to reporters after the Bhoomi Pujan program of the new building of the Registration and Stamp Duty Department, Fadnavis said that he has spoken to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde regarding the proposed International Airport of Purandar. The new place has been refused by the Defense Ministry. Therefore, the pre-determined place has got the approval of everyone including the Defense Department, Airport Authority. Here the matter of building an airport has come forward. This decision was taken in the presence of Chief Minister Shinde in a meeting held recently. The old place for Purandar airport has all kinds of permissions. That's why this decision is important. So we can move ahead quickly on acquiring land for the project. With this airport becoming a multipurpose traffic center (Multimodal Logistics Hub), lakhs of people will get employment.
The airport is under consideration for a modern airport with a multipurpose traffic center in Pune.
Chief Minister Shinde has ordered the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) to do the land acquisition work. This project will start after discussing with the local citizens, public representatives and all the parties.
Divisional commissioner Saurabh Rao has been instructed to send the plan after discussing with the local people
