ONE HISTORY SHEETER/ROBBER/SNATCHER/BURGLAR WHO WAS COMMITTING CRIME TO LIVE A LAVISH LIFE, NABBED BY THE HARD-WORKING STAFF OF PS SULTAN PURI

21 CASES OF ROBBERY/BURGLARY/SNATCHING SOLVED

The staff of PS Sultan Puri has arrested one desperate and habitual robber/snatcher/burglar namely Rohit S/o Naresh R/o F-1/436 Sultan Puri, Delhi, age 22 yrs (also a history-sheeter of PS Raj Park) along with the recovery of one pair of robbed gold ear-rings, two snatched mobile phones, one stolen LED tv and one scooty used in commission of crime in case.

BRIEF FACTS OF THE INCIDENT

On 13.06.2022 in the morning, a PCR call was reported regarding snatching of a pair of gold ear-rings from a lady by an unknown person near B-5 block park Sultan Puri. The police staff reached the spot immediately and it was found that one lady was jogging in the park, where one unknown pedestrian person snatched her ear-rings and ran away. The lady’s ears were also got injured during this incident. On the statement of the lady FIR No .552/21 dt 13.06.2022 U/s 356/379/394 IPC was registered at PS Sultan Puri and man-hunt for the alleged persons started.

TEAM FORMATION AND ARREST

Seeing the gravity of the case, as the crime was committed against a lady and she was robbed in day-light, a dedicated team under the close supervision of DCP Outer District was formed which comprised of SHO Sultan Puri, HC Pawan, Ct. Harpal and Ct. Sandeep.
During investigation, the team analysed the CCTV footages near the scene of crime and also checked the CCTV Footages in the adjoining areas. From this meticulous exercise and after checking almost 90-100 CCTV cameras a suspected person could be seen as per the description of the lady victim. The same footage was shown to the lady victim, who clearly identified the accused person. Thereafter, the route of the alleged robber was traced and his clear photo was obtained. The same was circulated in the nearby police station and he was identified as a habitual criminal namely "Rohit S/o Naresh R/o F-1/436 Sultan Puri, Delhi, age 22 yrs. Further, secret informers were deployed and his whereabouts were raided.

Finally, on 14.06.22, the dedicated team got a tip-off about the alleged person, the trap was laid and the accused was nabbed from Phool wala park, near Jalebi Chowk. His personal search was got conducted and during that the robbed gold ear-rings were recovered from his possession. He was enquired thoroughly and during that he disclosed of committing the crime and he was trying to sell the gold ear-rings to earn money. He was arrested in the said case FIR and the robbed articles were taken into police possession.

INTERROGATION

During sustained interrogation, accused disclosed that he is uneducated and belongs to a poor family. He disclosed that during his teen-age, he came in contact with one “Sagar” of B-block and one “Bhola” of D-block, both residents of Sultan Puri. They all became close friends and as all were uneducated, they decided to earn easy money by getting involved in criminal activities. They all became drug addicts and to fulfil their needs, they started snatching and theft. They used to sell the snatched/robbed/burgled items to the passersby on cheap prices and distributed the money amongst themselves. He is previously found involved in many criminal cases and also been behind bars many times. Whenever he comes out of Jail, they all meet and start to commit crime to earn easy money for travelling. He was aspiring to live a lavish life and wanted to take his family to a tour to Manali, HP. So, he committed robbery of gold ear-rings from the above said lady.

He further disclosed of being involved in several other crimes and on his instance - two snatched mobile phones, one stolen LED tv and one scooty used in commission of crime in case. The possible hideouts of his other co-accused were raided but they are absconding to avoid there arrest.

• Rohit S/o Naresh R/o F-1/436 Sultan Puri, Delhi, age 22 yrs. He is uneducated and unemployed. He is an active, desperate and habitual robber/snatcher/burglar, who is previously found involved in 16 criminal cases of Snatching/Robbery and Arms act. He is a history-sheeter of PS Raj Park.
