The proposal has asked the US Secretary of State to designate India as a country where the situation is worrying over alleged violations of the right to religious freedom.

This attitude of Ilhan Omar towards India is not new. Earlier, he had visited Pakistan-administered Kashmir in April this year. His visit was in the headlines. India had criticized Ilhan's visit a lot.

MPs Rashida Talib and Juan Vargas have also co-proposed the resolution. The resolution urges the Biden administration to implement the recommendations of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom. For the past three years, the commission has demanded to declare India as a "country of special concern for religious freedom".

The motion, introduced on Tuesday, has been sent to the House Foreign Affairs Committee for necessary action.

The Indian Foreign Ministry expressed displeasure over Ilhan's visit to Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi called it a violation of Indian territorial integrity.

He said, "He has visited a part of Jammu and Kashmir which is currently illegally occupied by Pakistan. If any politician wants to do politics of his narrow mindedness then it can be his job but it is a violation of our territorial integrity." Is."
