In 2016, BJP ruled MCD issued factory license despite knowing the fallacies of the matter-aap
NEW DELHI-The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday exposed the BJP's hand behind the devastating fire that broke out in Mundka this week. AAP Senior Leader and MCD in-charge Shri Durgesh Pathak stated, "BJP is the real culprit behind the Mundka Fire Tragedy. The building owner, Manish Lakra and BJP MP Parvesh Verma's chacha Master Azad Singh have deep ties. BJP's 2015 Delhi Assembly election's campaign office was in this very building that caught fire In 2016, BJP ruled MCD issued a factory license despite knowing the fallacies of the matter. The building's licence was cancelled after complaints by the locals yet it kept functioning discreetly. Industrial activities were going on in the complex despite the Supreme Court's monitoring committee sealing the building. BJP ruled MCD knew what Manish Lakra was upto in the building because of his ties with the BJP.AAP demands a thorough enquiry into the matter and strictest possible action against the building owner and BJP leaders involved in the conspiracy."
Shri Durgesh Pathak said, "We all saw that 27 lives were lost and several people were injured in the fierce fire that broke out in Mundka the day before yesterday. It was a devastating incident and the people of Delhi deserve to know the reality behind this incident. Being a Lal-Dora area, Industrial activities were not to be carried out in this building. In 2016, this factory's owners applied for a license for the same. The MCD issued the factory license despite being aware of it. But after seven-eight months people started complaining which led to the factory licence being cancelled in 2017. But because of the BJP's support industrial activities continued at the site even after the cancellation of the license."
He added, "In 2018, a monitoring committee set up by the Supreme Court sealed the building. Even today the building is sealed on the MCD papers, but industrial activities were being carried out in the factory through a discreet passage. The BJP ruled MCD was fully aware of these activities, yet they allowed all this to happen. One Manish Lakra is the owner of this building. I'm baffled about how this Manish Lakra had so much power that all the activities continued even after the monitoring committee of the Supreme Court sealed the building."
Presenting proof of Manish Lakra's background, Shri Durgesh Pathak said, "Manish Lakra can be seen wearing BJP's patka on many occasions and several BJP leaders can be seen standing with him. Master Azad Singh can be seen sitting in a car with Manish Lakra in a photo. This man has also been a councilor and mayor from the BJP several times. For the last three times, he has been fighting Mundka assembly elections on a BJP ticket. And that's not it, Azad Singh is a relative, in fact, he is the uncle of BJP MP Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma."
He continued, " The BJP-led MCD has destroyed the entire state of Delhi. BJP leaders have actively enabled all these illegal activities in Delhi with their sole purpose being corruption. It is noteworthy that back in 2015, when the Delhi Assembly elections were being conducted, the BJP ran its Mundka Vidhan Sabha campaign office from this very building. It is therefore evident that this establishment belongs to the BJP in one way or another, and each and every party leader of theirs was cognisant of all the unlawful activities that were operating out of this building."
