“According to the Chief Minister’s instructions, a three-person team with senior officials from the animal husbandry administration and the Moradabad region has been tasked with looking into the situation. The perpetrators of the act won’t get off easy, “notified Mr Dharam pal Singh.

On Friday, Mr Dharam Pal Singh along with senior district officials, veterinarians from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), and members of the Animal Husbandry department visited the spot. As per reports by district officials, on Thursday evening the cows in the shelter fell ill after consuming hay and by Friday morning 5 more died taking the toll over 60. They said that the shelter home accommodated more than 180 cows.

BK Tripathi, the Amroha District Magistrate, claims that the administration of the cow shelter purchased feed from a man by the name of Tahir. The DM stated, “An FIR has been filed against Tahir, and efforts are being made to arrest him.” He informed that the village development officer who supervises the cow shelter has been suspended.
