With the arrest of (1) Siddartha Raj Tiwari, aged 42 years r/o Om Vihar Extn., Uttam Nagar, Delhi, and (2) Deepak Wadhwa, aged 48 Yrs r/o Subhash Nagar, Delhi, the Cyber Police Station, Rohini has busted a gang of hi-tech criminals who used to cheat gullible people on pretext of redeeming of Credit Card points. 

INCIDENT

One Prem Yadav filed a complaint at NCRP portal regarding cheating after obtaining his credit card details. He mentioned in the complaint that he received a call on his mobile phone from one person representing himself as an employee of SBI Bank. The caller asked the complainant to provide details of his credit card luring him that he can assist him in redeeming the points on his credit card. Taking the caller as a genuine employee of SBI Bank, the complainant followed his instructions. After some time, the complainant received notifications on his mobile phone regarding two transactions of Rs. 90000 and Rs. 10000 from his credit card. Subsequently, the complaint was transferred to PS Cyber Rohini for further action. On the basis of said complaint and preliminary enquiry, a case vide FIR No. 91/22, U/S 420 IPC was registered at PS Cyber Rohini and investigation of the case was taken up.

TEAM & OPERATION
In order to apprehend the culprits, a team comprising of SI Ankit Yadav, SI Ankur Tomar, HC Ajay, Ct Joney, Ct Pardeep, Ct Ajay Khokar and W/Ct Jyoti -was constituted under the supervision of Insp. Ajay Dalal, SHO/Cyber Police Station, Rohini and under overall supervision of Sh. Ishwar Singh, ACP/Operation/Rohini.

INVESTIGATION/ INTERROGATION
During the course of investigation, on the basis of technical analysis, money trail and local intelligence, it was learnt that the alleged persons are based in Subhash Nagar area. Subsequently, local intelligence was gathered about the suspects in the vicinity.

Accordingly, a raid was conducted and accused person namely Deepak Wadhwa r/o Subhash Nagar, Delhi was arrested in this case with the help of technical surveillance. He disclosed that he along with one Siddhatha Raj Tiwari runs call center with the help of some boys and girls who used to make fraud calls. On his disclosure, a raid was conducted at Subhash Nagar, Delhi and one Siddartha Raj Tiwari mentioned above was also arrested in this case.

They both were subjected to sustained interrogation. At their instance, 20 mobile phones, 01 Credit/Debit Card, 05 Laptops and 72 SIM cards have been recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, the accused person disclosed that both of them used to design websites together 05 years back. As this business was going in loss, they thought of several ideas to earn quick money. In the meantime, they came in contact of a person who lured them to start fake call centres and employ some people to acquire their card details. Whenever a victim details was obtained, they used to transfer these details through a gateway link.

During interrogation, they also disclosed that the person who lured them to start call centre, used to provide data, SIM cards as well as the links for the payment gateway. They also disclosed that he used to give them their share and keep the remaining amount with himself. Concerted efforts were made to apprehend him but all in vain. On receiving the information of arrest of his accomplices, he changed his address and is still at large.

CASES WORKED OUT
8 complaints of (NCRP portal) are also found directly linked with the accused persons. However, CDRs of the mobile phones is being analyzed to trace more victims.
